The LN Engineering / Bilt Racing Service Tandem Oil Scavenge Pump Kit protects Boxster, Cayman, and 911 Carrera M96 and M97 engines from oil starvation caused by centrifugal forces and lateral acceleration that causes engine oil to collect in the front area of the cylinder head, away from the original oil return pump. The result is that oil becomes trapped in the cylinder head and cannot be returned to the sump fast enough to ensure adequate oil supply to the oil pickup. Our tandem oil scavenge pump ensures that oil is scavenged properly under all driving conditions and returned to the sump. We recommend pairing with our 106-00.1 2 quart deep sump which includes our X51-style oil baffle and an anti-slosh plate (or our Accusump kit) to improve oil control in your engine to help prevent oil starvation common to Porsche Boxster, Cayman, and 911 vehicles with the M96/M97 engine when tracked.
